TRADITION continued in Lichfield as the annual Sheriff's Ride took place across the city.
Participants on horseback and bicycles travelled the route and took part in a ceremonial procession to and from the Lichfield Guildhall.
The event dates back to 1553 when Queen Mary gave the city the right to appoint its own Sheriff.
