Burntwood Town came mightily close to upsetting the formbook in the Midland Combination Division Two.
They travelled to high-flying Barnt Green Spartak more in hope than expectation, but were narrowly beaten 4-3.
Goals from Andrew Mullan, Tom Green and Dean Williams eventually counted for nothing as Burntwood bid to keep the six point cushion between themselves and the battle between a clutch of sides at the bottom.
