The season in the Burntwood six-a-side league is about to finish and plans are already underway for the new campaign.

The popular league, run by Leisure Leagues at Burntwood Leisure Centre on Sundays, is set to re-launch.

Leisure Leagues Senior Manager Chris Rowntree said:

“We run leagues all over the UK and we know how much teams are enjoying games at venue. Now we are looking to increase the competition and make the league even better.”

All games will be refereed by a United Kingdom Independent Football Federation (UKIFF) official and all equipment is provided.

This season’s Burntwood Premier League is building to an exciting climax and the winners will once again get the chance to represent the area on a national stage.

The winners and runners up in each division will be given the chance to play in the Leisure Leagues National Tournament held twice-yearly at venues across the Midlands.

The most recent tournament, held earlier this month saw Staffordshire side Cannock Warriors emerge with the silverware, but Chris said:

“Competition will be fierce again that’s for sure, but a team from Burntwood might win it, there are some fine sides there so who knows!”

Places in the six-a-side league are limited so teams are urged to register online at www.leisureleagues.net or call 0845 230 2340 for more information.
