People in Lichfield and Burntwood are being urged to put the kettle on to raise money for St Giles Hospice.
The charity’s Mammoth Coffee Morning Week takes place on May 10 and families, friends, clubs and colleagues are being invited to take part.
By holding a coffee themed event people from across the region can help to fund care for local people living with cancer and other serious illnesses.
Helen Relihan, Head of Fundraising at St Giles Hospice, explained:
“Mammoth Coffee Morning Week turns one of the things we all enjoy – time spent with friends – into a lovely way to help our local hospice charity. So instead of going out for a coffee during Mammoth Coffee Week, why not serve up your own drinks, cakes and biscuits?
“Last year people helped to raise a brilliant total, and so we’re hoping this year’s event will brew up an even bigger amount. In fact, we’re aiming for a whopping £20,000 towards the Compassus Centre, St Giles’ new in-patient facility, the opening of which coincides with Mammoth Coffee Morning Week.”

St Giles is also holding its own Mammoth Coffee Mornings, open to all between 10am to 12pm on May 12 at the Thomas Spencer Church Hall in Whittington, and in the Day Hospice at St Giles in Whittington from 10.30am to 12.30pm on the same date.
