Lichfield and Burntwood residents are being urged to get in the saddle and support a life-saving service.

The Midlands Air Ambulance is hosting a charity cycle ride on September 3.

The journey will start at the RAF Cosford air base in Shropshire and take in 60 miles as it heads to a finish at the Strensham base.

A spokesperson said:

“Without donations and fundraising events, the charity – which is solely funded by public generosity – would not be able to operate. Midlands Air Ambulance receives no government or lottery funding and needs £6million a year to carry out the life-saving work it does.

“To reserve your place on this great day out, all we require is a £20 registration fee per person and a minimum sponsorship commitment of £200. Minimum age of participation is 16 years.”
