Call for teams to join Lichfield six-a-side football league

Published:

Teams are being invited to join the new Leisure Leagues small-sided football competition in Lichfield.

Held at King Edward VI School, the Monday league is set to get underway again in the coming weeks.

Leisure Leagues Senior Manager Chris Rowntree said:

“We run leagues all over the UK and we know how much teams are enjoying games at venue. Now we are looking to increase the competition and make the league even better.”

All games will be refereed by a United Kingdom Independent Football Federation (UKIFF) official and all equipment is provided.

This season’s Premier League is building to an exciting climax and the winners will once again get the chance to represent Lichfield on a national stage.

The winners and runners up in each division will be given the chance to play in Leisure Leagues acclaimed National Tournament held twice-yearly at venues across the Midlands.

The most recent tournament, held earlier this month saw Staffordshire side Cannock Warriors emerge with the silverware, but Chris said:

“Competition will be fierce again that’s for sure, but a team from Lichfield might win it, there are some fine sides down there so who knows!”

Places in the six-a-side league are limited so teams are urged to register at www.leisureleagues.net or call 0845 230 2340 for more information.
