A CAR suspected of being used to dump waste illegally has been seized by Lichfield District Council.
It comes after a fly-tipping incident was found on land opposite the junction of Eastern Avenue and Curborough Road.
An investigation by environmental protection officers used information recovered from the rubbish and CCTV footage to identify items seen being loaded into the vehicle.
As a result, a grey Nissan Note was tracked down to a retail car park at Yoxall Way in Streethay on Friday (27th March).
Cllr Richard Cox, cabinet member for community and public protection at Lichfield District Council said, said:
“Fly-tipping is a serious crime that will not be tolerated. Our officers seized this vehicle last Friday suspecting it had been used to dump waste in the city.
“They will continue their investigations and look to prosecute those responsible.”
