THE annual Poppy Appeal has been officially launched in Lichfield.

The Mayor Lichfield Cllr Rosie Harvey-Coggins, Dave Robertson MP and Cllr Janice Silvester-Hall joined Phil Tootill and the appeal's local organiser Charlotte Aspley for the event in the city centre.

The Royal British Legion will sell poppies at a range of locations across Lichfield, including Tesco Extra, Morrisons and Waitrose supermarkets.

Collection tins will also be available at other shops.

Meanwhile, local groups Lichfield Litter Legends and the Friends of Lichfield City Station have also created special poppy displays which will appear across the city to mark the Poppy Appeal.
