More than £1,600 has been raised for charity at a fundraising dinner dance hosted by the chairman of Lichfield District Council.

Cllr Joseph Powell hosted 140 guests at the event at Drayton Manor to help raise money for two local charities – Lichfield Young Carers and Rocklands School.

The money will now be split between the two good causes.

Cllr Powell said:

“The annual dinner dance is a great way to get together and raise money for worthwhile causes, and this year was no exception. I would like to thank the team who helped to stage the event, the guests who paid for their tickets, and everyone who gave so generously on the night. I know the money raised will be used to help fund some great local initiatives.”
