A NEW manager has been appointed at Chasetown.

The club had been without a boss since the departure of Jamie Hawkins last week.

But the Scholars have moved quickly to appoint the former Stoke City, Leeds United, Barnsley, Portsmouth, Watford and Port Vale player.

Following his on the pitch career, Dickinson later went on to manage Hanley Town.

Chasetown’s chairman Steve Jones said:

“We are excited to welcome Carl. He is a manager with clear ambition, strong leadership qualities and a proven track record.

“We believe he is the right person to take the club into the next phase of its growth on the pitch.”

Dickinson will be joined by assistant Kris Scott at The Scholars Ground.
