The midfielder was an instrumental figure under previous boss Charlie Blakemore before quitting football to concentrate on a career in boxing.

But new Chasetown boss Craig Harris has enticed Egan back into the dressing room for the new season – which continues this evening (August 21) with a home clash against Newcastle Town.

However, Egan will still don the gloves as he looks to continue his professional boxing career when he returns to the ring on September 8 at the HMV Institute in Digbeth.

Tickets are £30 normal and £50 ringside. To book tickets, text 07723058269.
