Chasetown FC have moved to strengthen their squad with two new signings.
Manager Charlie Blakemore – who admitted he was looking to bring in fresh faces after a string of injuries and departures – has moved to bring in Rene Williams from Tamworth and defender Tom Lappin has signed from Crewe Alexandra.
Winger Williams will bolster Blakemore’s attacking options while Lappin’s arrival will aid a defensive shortage while Chris Slater battles to shrug off a niggling injury.
The Scholars boss told the Chasetown website:
“Both players have a lot of potential and I am pleased to invite them into the squad.”
The new signings will go into the squad for tonight’s visit to Market Drayton Town (kick-off 7.45pm).
