Chasetown FC won their third home league on the trot against Corby Town, who ended the game with nine men.
The visitors were reduced to ten men in the sixth minute when Muzzy Nduna hurtled towards the penalty box and was pulled down by keeper Paul Bastock who received a straight red card.
Chasetown asserted themselves on the game and sub keeper Sam Wilson was called into action to deny George Cater low to his left, before Josh Sedgley forced a save from long distance.
But Lewis Irwin almost gave the visitors a shock lead in the 38th minute as he guided a header beyond Curtis Pond but the ball crashed against the crossbar.
The Scholars eventually made their numerical advantage count in first half stoppage time as Will Whieldon fired his shot against the post but reacted quickest to fire home the rebound.
The home side doubled their lead in the 53rd minute. A Michael Williams low cross zipped through the legs of a defender and Nduna side footed past Wilson from eight yards.
But Corby were gifted a route back into the game with a goal 17 minutes from time. Pond struck a goal kick straight to a striker and despite valiant attempts to keep the ball out, sub Sam Warburton reduced the deficit from close range.
In the first minute of stoppage time the visitors were reduced to nine men as Nduna was clean through on goal and Jason Lee received a straight red for a professional foul.
