CHASETOWN are looking for a new manager after Jamie Hawkins stepped down.
The Scholars confirmed his resignation had been accepted by the club’s board.
He had spent time as a player and assistant manager before taking on the top job in October last year.
Hawkins said:
“I would like to thank everyone connected with the club for their support over the past nine years.
“It has been a privilege to serve in several roles, from player and assistant manager and most recently as first team manager.
“There are too many people to thank individually, but I will do so personally in due course.
“To the players and staff, I wish you all the very best for the remainder of the season and hope you can finish strongly, starting with the Walsall Senior Cup Final.
“I will look back on my time here with great pride and will continue to support the club going forward.
“Thank you for the memories.”
In a statement, Chasetown’s board thanked the outgoing boss for his “unwavering commitment, professionalism and hard work” during his time at The Scholars Ground.
They added:
“Jamie has been – and remains – a highly respected figure within the football club.
“His values, dedication and connection to Chasetown FC have been evident throughout his tenure, and he leaves with the utmost respect of the chairman, board, players and supporters.
“While the club has taken the decision to move in a new direction in order to rejuvenate the men’s first team, this does not detract from the significant impact Jamie has made over a sustained period.”
