Students at Chasetown Specialist Sports College are celebrating record-breaking GCSE achievements.

This year’s results are the best in the College’s history with 88 per cent students gaining 5 A*-C grades and 64% per cent of students gaining 5A*-C grades including English and Maths.

Among the star students were Jenna Clake with eight A* and three A grades and Rebecca Clarke who scored seven A* and four A grades.

Chasetown Specialist Sports College headteacher, Bernice Astling, said:

‘These results are brilliant and they greatly exceed our College targets. Exam results at GCSE have increased by 24% for the number of students gaining five A*-C grades, and by 15 per cent for number of students gaining 5A*-C grades including English and Maths, the Government’s preferred bench mark of school success. Our students and staff have worked incredibly hard for these results which are very well-deserved. We are immensely proud of both our results at GCSE and at A-Level (99 per cent pass rate) this year.”
