The closure of a main road into Lichfield for almost three months has been pushed back.

Burton Road through Streethay was due to be shut for 12 weeks from July 19 to allow work on sewers and junctions for the new Roman Heights housing development to take place.

But Severn Trent Water now say the closure will now begin a week later.

The company’s programme manager John Amos said: “Work will now start on July 25 to coincide with the start of the school holidays which should help minimise disruption.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

The closure of Ash Tree Lane from August 8 to 31 will remain the same.
