Coach tour operators have been treated to a guided tour of Lichfield’s top tourist attractions in a bid to boost visitor numbers.
Visit Lichfield – Lichfield District Council’s tourism team – hosted the event for tour operators from London, Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Shropshire.
The day-long taster included visits to Lichfield Cathedral, Erasmus Darwin House, Lichfield Heritage Centre, The Samuel Johnson Museum and the Lichfield Garrick & Tourist Information Centre.
During lunch, the group was also treated to presentations about Staffordshire Regiment Museum and the National Memorial Arboretum.
Councillor Louise Flowith, Lichfield District Council’s cabinet member for tourism, said: “This tour was a great way to promote our beautiful and fascinating city to tour operators.
“We’ve had some fantastic feedback, with many of the tour operators telling us they are looking forward to bringing their groups to Lichfield District in the future.”
