Councillors are set to debate plans to spend £53,000 to improve Burntwood Town Council’s headquarters.
The three year programme of works would see an overhaul of a number of rooms, with replacements to windows and carpets along with redecoration. A new unisex first floor toilet will also be created.
The overall figure could rise by a further £18,000 if sash windows are replaced, meaning a final bill of more than £64,000.
A further £1,500 could be spent on the gardens, while £900 has been earmarked for patio furniture and games, including a mini-golf set.
The proposals will be discussed at a meeting of the town council’s policy and resources committee on Thursday (November 9).
A previous plan – which would have seen £5,000 spent on plants – was put on hold in July pending a public consultation.
However, an open day saw just three suggestion surveys completed, although a further 10 were received in advance and another collected via Facebook.
