A creative tea party is taking place for Lichfield youngsters searching for some half-term fun.
Kate Tilley will be leading the event at the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum on October 27 from 12 noon to 3pm.
The ceramic artist has recently worked with pupils at Nether Stowe School, where a group of BTEC students have created eccentric pottery-inspired artworks out of recycled items of household junk.
Some of the designs created by the pupils will be on display at the Museum over the half-term holiday, with more on display at the school at the end of the project.
Entrance to the Museum and display is free, as are the half-term activities as part of the 52 weeks of Art’ project.
Museums and heritage officer Joanne Wilson said:
“We are looking forward to our half-term activity and display because they show just how creative Lichfield can be. Samuel Johnson was a great lover of tea and was said to drink up to 25 cups in one sitting, so he would certainly have approved of the tea party theme of Kate’s activity!”
