Captain Dave Bassett admites Lichfield RUFC’s cup win against Droitwich will force his squad to dig even deeper as the season wears on.
Lichfield produced a strong performance to win their National Cup Round Three clash.
But while another win on the board is appreciated, Bassett admits the club could be victims of their own success if the fixtures start to pile-up.
He said:
“We can be pleased with the win against a Droitwich team who will undoubtedly be in the mix for promotion at the end of the season.
“But it does mean that it extends the season again for our squad who are competing on three fronts at the moment.”
