Alan Towers used the force to travel the 160 miles between Stoke-on-Trent and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

He called in on the Lichfield along the way as part of a bid to raise £10,000 for the hospital.

Stefanie Cunliffe from the community fundraising team at Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, said: “We’re delighted that Alan is fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity in such an innovative way.

“Each year, we need to raise £50 million to rebuild and refurbish the hospital, buy vital equipment and fund pioneering research. The money raised by them will help us keep the magic alive for children at Great Ormond Street Hospital.”

Alan is seeking sponsorship from individuals and local businesses to help him reach his target of £10,000. To find out more visit www.justgiving.com/vader-for-charity.
