A day of celebrations is being planned to mark the 40th anniversary of a Lichfield golf course.
The Beacon Park facility will hold a tournament as well as free tuition from the Robert Rock Golf Academy between 9am and 3pm on March 23.
Councillor Andy Smith said: “We hope this celebratory day will encourage more people to take up the game, and that they take advantage of the chance to have expert golfing tuition, the discounted prices, and the chance to win prizes.
“I would like to thank the Swinfen Broun Charitable Trust who helped to fund the golf course in 1974, in what was one of the trust’s first major projects. It has given enjoyment to keen golfers over the decades and we hope the golf course will be enjoyed for years to come.”
The event costs £2.60 for children and £4.10 for adults. Equipment can be hired from £1.50.
