POLICE are reminding drivers not to leave vehicles unattended while they defrost.
Officers say thefts linked to defrosting cars have been reported in Lichfield in recent days.
Inspector Rebecca Price, from Staffordshire Police, said:
“Please do not leave your vehicle unattended while it defrosts.
“Sadly, there are opportunist thieves out there who will be on the lookout for easy pickings on frosty mornings.
“Stay with any running vehicle while it thaws out – even if it’s on your drive.
“It’s also a good idea to check the weather the night before and cover windscreens with a windscreen protector or even a blanket.”
