Owners of mature cats in Lichfield are being given the chance to learn how to give their pet a longer, healthier life at a free information evening.
Pool House Veterinary Hospital, on Fosseway Lane, is hosting the education event from 7.30pm on March 21 to help owners recognise many of the conditions that affect our feline friends as they get older.
Vets and nurses will be on hand to give advice and answer questions about mature cats aged from seven to ten.
Danni Pountain, deputy head nurse at Pool House Veterinary Hospital, said: “This is one of a series of free events we’re hosting for pet owners throughout the year and we’re expecting demand to be high so book your free place early to avoid disappointment.
“It’s a chance to talk to our friendly vet and nursing team for free and ask any questions you may have about your cat’s health.
“We want to help make people aware of the conditions that can affect mature cats and how to manage these conditions so that you can give your cat a healthier life for longer.”
The event will cover a range of topics including hyperthyroidism, the implications of reduced kidney function, blood pressure and how to detect dental disease. It will also include advice on how the dietary requirements of cats changes with age and how mobility can be affected as cats get older.
