Wildlife enthusiasts are being invited to join a mammal expert on a survey of nature at Chasewater.
Derek Crawley will be leading the group as they trap and discover more about the animals that live at the site of special scientific interest.
Justine Lloyd, Lichfield District Council’s countryside manager, said: “Mammals, such as voles, wood mice and shrews, are elusive creatures that find lots of inventive ways to hide from predators and prying eyes.
“As this event involves taking a closer look at the mammals that have been caught in humane traps, it’s a great way to see animals that we don’t usually get to meet. We’ll also record the mammals we find as part of a survey on Chasewater’s mammal populations. We’ll release the animals after the event.
“If you do join us, remember to wear sturdy footwear and sensible outdoor clothing.”
The walk and talk costs £2.50 for adults and £1.50 for children, which can be paid on the day. There is not need to book, just turn up at Chasewater Country Park’s Innovation Centre on Sunday (August 18) at 10am.
