The changing shape of the family unit will provide the inspiration for a new comedy at the Lichfield Garrick.
Fashionably Late is the latest show from the pen of Ginny Davis, who also appears in the production.
She has previously celebrated two sell out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and will hope for more success when she visits Lichfield.
Ginny says she was inspired to write Fashionably Late after her mother came to stay for a month’s convalescence.
“While she made a full recovery, I decided to enter the ‘what-if zone’ and challenged myself to write a comedy about a family coping with tragedy.”

She will be joined on stage in Fashionably Late by James Goldsworthy.
Ginny added: “James had performed the non speaking role of Jack the black labrador in my previous production, Hound Dog. His comic timing and empathy with my sense of humour perfectly suited him for the role, or rather roles in Fashionably Late, since between us we play 13 characters.
“His Mercy, a 20 something goth shopgirl is adorable, while his Ned, a sweet but awkward apprentice funeral director, is a delight.”
Fashionably Late comes to the Lichfield Garrick on May 9. Tickets are £14 and can be booked by calling 01543 412121 or visiting the online box office.
