A fabulous feast of folk music is being promised by organisers of a festival in Lichfield.
The Lichfield Festival of Folk will take place from Friday (October 24) until Sunday.
Among the highlights of this year’s event will be a procession of local arts, music and heritage groups through the city centre from 10.30am on Saturday, followed by displays from Morris dancers and musicians.
The main music programme features Emily Sanders, Belzebub and Kimber’s Men at Lichfield Guildhall from 7.30pm on Friday, before the following day sees the likes of Wildfire Folk, Chase Mist, Vicky Swann and Jonnie Dyer and Magpie Lane on stage from 12.30pm, while Oysterband will be headlining at 7.30pm.
On Sunday the fun starts at noon in the Guildhall with Lichfield Lighthouse Company being followed by Tom Patterson and Dave Morton, Mitres Well, Hattie Briggs, Folklaw and Fake Thackray. The festival finale comes via Home Service.
Lichfield Arts vice-president Stuart Davies said: “We have put together a wide range of events to suit all pockets and different interests.
“This is a weekend when you can really immerse yourself in folk, arts and heritage.”
