BIKERS joining the annual Ride to the Wall are being given free passage on the M6 Toll once more.
It will be the 19th consecutive year that bosses at Midland Expressway Ltd have thrown open the gates for motorcyclists heading to the National Memorial Arboretum.
The event takes place on Saturday (3rd October) and sees riders from across the country come together to honour the service and sacrifice of military personnel.
Maxine Estevez, from M6 Toll, said:
"Ride to the Wall has become a special part of our calendar and we're incredibly proud to be supporting the event for the 19th year.
"It is a powerful demonstration of remembrance, respect and community, and we're delighted to play a small part in helping thousands of riders safely reach the National Memorial Arboretum."
Registered bikers will pass through T5 at Shenstone and T6 at Burntwood toll plazas between 9.30 am and 11.00 am. Organisers are also asking riders to avoid exiting at T4 at Weeford to minimise congestion.
Martin Dickinson, founder of Ride to the Wall, said:
"We simply couldn't host Ride to the Wall at this scale without the continued support of M6 Toll.
"With seven of our 12 official routes relying on the road for safe and reliable travel to the National Memorial Arboretum, their backing is absolutely vital.
"Thanks to their generosity, thousands of riders can take part without the burden of toll costs. We ask all participants to familiarise themselves with the routes and follow instructions from our marshals to ensure everyone arrives safely."
