Regular theatregoers are being offered a special bonus if they join a city group this month.
The Friends of Lichfield Garrick are offering newcomers a Christmas bonus discount of almost 20 percent on a 15-month subscription.
Friends’ President Joanne Malin outlined the benefits of joining.
She said: “Our members enjoy priority booking, discounts and VIP invitations to special events. We are an independent organisation, run by a committee of elected Friends members and the money we raise helps to fulfil our aim of providing finance and encouragement to young people to become involved in live performance at this wonderful theatre.
“As well as financing professional coaching workshops and master classes at the Garrick, we assist in promoting the theatre and supporting its work throughout the Lichfield district and beyond. Friends’ subscriptions help to improve your theatre visits both to front of house and the whole artistic experience by contributing to displays and behind the scenes equipment.”
Elsie and Brian Smith, both Life Members of Lichfield Operatic Society, became Friends of the Garrick three years ago.
Brian said: “We joined not only for the social and financial benefits, but also because we wanted to support Adrian Jackson and his team who make a significant artistic and educational contribution to the lives of people of all ages in the area.
“As members we receive the programs well in time for us to book tickets before they go on sale to the public. We usually book tickets from the list of Friends’ offers of two for one and a number of others which offer a 10 per cent discount. These reductions more than cover our annual subscription.”
With the special Christmas bonus discount, the 15-month subscription is £55 for two people and £30 for a single person.
