A fundraising page set up to pay for a memorial to a Lichfield man has hit its target within two days.
Dave Gallagher, who died earlier this week, was one of the driving forces behind the You’re Probably From Lichfield If… Facebook page.
Members of the group began fundraising to fund a memorial to him – an appeal which has already passed its £500 target.
Fiona Crisp, who set up the JustGiving page, posted: “Dave Gallagher was a rare breed; there for anybody and everybody and a true friend.
“He will be very truly missed.”
Others on the fundraising page described him as “true gentleman” and “a huge loss to the city”.
