A fundraising ball is taking place near Lichfield to raise money for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and Help for Heroes.
The Tower Suite at Drayton Manor Theme Park will host the event and receive a makeover as a selection of World War Two military vehicles go on show, including a tank, jeeps, a command vehicle and a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The Poppy Ball starts at 7pm on November 9. Former professional footballer Duncan McKenzie will host the night, which also features a five-course meal and live entertainment from Sticky Wicket and his String Orchestra. There will also be a fundraising auction during the evening along with an appearance by Graham Jolley, winner of Penn & Teller’s Fool Us show.
Colin Bryan, managing director of Drayton Manor Theme Park, said: “It is a privilege and an honour to show our appreciation and support for these two charities.
“I hope businesses will join us and help raise as much money as possible.”
Individual tickets cost £55 per person or £500 for a table of ten. Tickets are still available and anyone interested in attending can email richardmckay@draytonmanor.co.uk or call 01827 252418.
