A fundraiser showcasing local gardens has been given a boost thanks to a £500 donation.
Housebuilder Bellway has handed over the money to help cover the costs of putting on the Fradley Open Gardens event on 25th and 26th June.
Fourteen private gardens will be opened up for people to visit, while live music and entertainment will also take place around Fradley over the weekend with all proceeds going to St Stephen’s Church and other local community projects.
Fradley Open Gardens is back for 2022 following a two-year break due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Sandy Carruthers, one of the co-organisers of Fradley Open Gardens, said:
“It was heartening to know that Bellway were willing to support the community of Fradley once again, and in particular the Fradley Open Gardens event.
“Due to the significant cost of insuring the event for the safety of all those attending, Bellway’s donation will go a long way to helping us to cover these costs and help us to host a safe event for all those attending across the two days.
“Myself and the other organisers of the Fradley Open Gardens event are very appreciative of the community spirit and generosity shown in supporting our event for a second time, and we look forward to delivering another fun-packed day for the people of Fradley.”
