Lichfield Arts are delighted to welcome back the American Grammy-nominated “King of the Delta Blues” Kent DuChaine to the Guildhall. Since the 70’s Kent has played with many of the great names in blues including John Lee Hooker, Howling Wolf, Albert Collins and Margie Evans. In 1991 alongside the legendary bluesman Johnny Shines Kent recorded “Back to the Country” for which they received “W.C.Hardy Award for the best country blues album” of the year, and in the same year the pair performed on the live album “Roots of Rhythm and Blues” for which they received a Grammy-nomination. In 2001 The Sunday Times heralded Kent DuChaine: “One of the five best concerts nationwide (in any music genre).”

There are very few musicians who can captivate a room of people with nothing but a guitar and the blues to the level that Kent DuChaine does. This Minnesota-born guitarist has quietly made a name for himself as one of the stand out acts on the blues circuit.

“For anybody who likes the blues and hasn’t seen Kent DuChaine then I can’t recommend this concert more highly!”

Tickets are: £12/£11 concessions/£10 members/£6 students and can either be purchased on the door or in advance from Lichfield Arts Box Office, Donegal House, Bore Street, Lichfield, WS13 6LU. Telephone: 01543 262223, or online at www.lichfieldarts.org.uk or on the door.
