HAMMERWICH have gone four games without a win after going down by six wickets at Beacon.
After losing the toss and being sent in to bat first, the Hammers suffered an early blow as Tom Wright was caught by Oliver Green off the bowling of Kavishka Gamage after scoring just four.
But Callum Brodrick's 83 and John Jennings' patient 29 from 78 balls pushed the score along to 146-3.
Scott Elstone added a quickfire 66, but saw wickets fall around him as Hammerwich's innings eventually came to a close on 248-8.
Stephen Blews and Gamage were the pick of the bowlers as they finished with 3-63 and 3-38 respectively.
Beacon's response looked to be in trouble as they found themselves on 38-2 when Hasnain Nawaz had trapped Gurjot Singh and Scott Elstone saw James Fildes caught by Alistair Lawrie.
Elstone then bowled Tom Elwell to leave the hosts on 104-3.
Oliver Green made 67 before Brodrick caught him off Nawaz's bowling to leave Beacon on 187-4.
It was to be the final success for Hammerwich though as an unbeaten 73 for Gamage and Max Lee's 23 saw them past the total for the loss of just four wickets.
