HAMMERWICH bounced back to winning ways with a three-wicket triumph at home against Pelsall.
After opting to bat first, the visitors made a solid start, reaching 72 before former England ace Monty Panesar became the first wicket to fall when he was caught by Daniel Bate off the bowling of Ryan Elliott for 37.
Hasnain Nawaz took the wicket of Tom Wright with the score on 108, sparking a flurry of wickets as Pelsall slipped to 117-5.
Tom Boyd offered some resistance as he made an unbeaten 30, but eventually he ran out of partners as the visitors were dismissed for 172.
John Jennings was the pick of the bowling bunch for Hammerwich with figures of 4-41.
The home side's response got off to a stuttering start as Imran Qadir and Callum Brodrick were removed to leave their side on 61-2.
Scott Elstone was stumped after scoring 17 with the scoreboard reaching 115.
But a solid 70 from Tom Wright swung the pendulum firmly in favour of the Hammers as they reached 140 before he became the fourth wicket to fall.
Pelsall gave themselves hope with quick wickets of Luke Ponder, Andy Malkin and Jennings, but Elliot and Haider Pervaiz steered Hammerwich past the total with three wickets in hand.
