A HOUSING group says it has recovered more than 70 properties in the past year due to tenancy fraud.
Bromford said it had also halted seven succession applications and refused 11 right to buy applications due to concerns around eligibility or funding legitimacy in 2024-25 period,
Legal action was taken against two former customers found to be unlawfully subletting their homes. In both cases, courts issued Unlawful Profit Orders totalling £37,000.
All of the 73 homes recovered have now been reallocated to those in genuine need, the housing association said.

“Every home we recover is a home that can go to someone in genuine need.
“Addressing tenancy fraud is not only about enforcement – it’s also about prevention, awareness and supporting colleagues and customers to do the right thing.”
