Hundreds of women have stepped out in style in Lichfield for the St Giles Hospice Solstice Walk.

More than 750 ladies donned fairy-themed magical dress and hit the streets of the city centre for the night-time stroll, which is set to raise an estimated £70,000 for the charity.
The Solstice Walk is the biggest single event in St Giles Hospice’s fundraising calendar. Helen Relihan, Head of Fundraising for St Giles Hospice, said:
“The atmosphere of the Solstice Walk really is unbeatable, and I would like to say a huge thank-you to all the women who took part, as well as all those who helped it run so smoothly by helping out on the night or sponsoring the event.
“Once again, our fabulous supporters have raised a magnificent sum for St Giles, which will make a real difference to the lives of local people with cancer and other serious illnesses.”
The money raised from this year’s Solstice Walk means the event has now generated almost £400,000 for hospice care since it was established in 2007.
