Jazz quartet Mulligan Soup are coming to the Lichfield Garrick.
The piano-less group, formed in tribute to the music of Gerry Mulligan’s famous 1950s recordings, will perform on May 4.
“The cool West Coast style was kick-started by Mulligan and Baker with the famous quartet concerts at The Haig nightclub in Los Angeles, and their recordings for Pacific Jazz,” a spokesperson said. “Selected tracks from these recordings have been carefully transcribed to put together a programme paying authentic tribute to those concerts, and recreating the ambience of the post-war boom times.
“Mulligan Soup features four talented professional musicians, with a wealth of experience of many different musical genres.”
Mulligan Soup’s Cool Jazz will be at the Lichfield Garrick on May 4 at 7.30pm.
Tickets start at £10 and can be booked from www.lichfieldgarrick.com or by calling the box office on 01543 412121.
