Busy Bees organised fundraising events at its 344 sites across the UK, including the Around The World Toddle, which saw children and staff walk a combined 24,901 miles.

And a cheque for £85,622 was handed over at the company’s Burntwood HQ to help Meningitis Now fund research projects and provide family support services.

Steve Dayman, executive founder of Meningitis Now, said: “We are really grateful for the fantastic efforts of all involved, from the nursery staff to all the busy bees who helped to reach this unbelievable total.

“Every penny of our funding to help raise awareness and support families affected by meningitis comes from generous donations like these.”
