An athletics event scheduled to take place in Lichfield has been cancelled.
The Keely’s City Centre Athletics Event was due to take place on Sunday August 28 but has now been axed.
Kevin Wilson, from organisers KP Events, explained that the logistics behind the event meant it would not take place as planned. He said:
“It was always going to be difficult to stage this first event of its kind in the city at a time of year when other events were taking place and so many people were on holiday.
“We were just finding it difficult to stage and personal circumstances were also a key factor in making the decision to cancel this year. Hopefully in 2012 we’ll be able to find a suitable slot to launch the event again.”
