Visuals will be projected onto the building between December 18 and 23 as A Cathedral Illuminated returns.

Created by artist in residence Peter Walker and composer David Harper, the display will take viewers on a Christmas journey around the whole Cathedral Close, leading to the West Front where they will see the Nativity story illustrated through images and sounds. The experience continues inside the cathedral where visitors can also enjoy a star installation, the annual Christmas tree festival and readings at the crib.

Adrian Dorber, Dean of Lichfield Cathedral, said: “It was wonderful to see so many people from across the region coming to last year’s A Cathedral Illuminated. Our plans this year are even bigger and bolder, as we look to share the wonder of the Nativity story and celebrate this very special time of year on a spectacular scale.”
