A Chinese restaurant in Lichfield is getting into the Platinum Jubilee spirit – 20 years after the founder was invited to meet the Queen.
Staff from The Ruby on St John Street were invited to perform a traditional Chinese dance for the monarch as part of the Jubilee celebrations in 2002.
Founder Tommy Ho said staff were once again hanging out the bunting to celebrate the latest milestone for Her Majesty.
“I’m super proud to British and consider myself as such having been born in the former crown colony of Hong Kong.
“Back in 2002 were were invited to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee and demonstrate a traditional Chinese unicorn dance for her.
“We’ve already put up our flags to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.”
