Lichfield City FC turned out a gritty display to pick up three points against Cadbury Athletic.
Jamie Hawkins’ men had to ride their luck a little in the first half as Odane Barnes’ effort for the visitors rattled the crossbar.
Daniel Thurstance had City’s best effort of the opening period when his stooping header was well saved.
The second half was another cagey affair with few clear-cut chances.
But with the game seemingly drifting towards a draw, a Lichfield free kick was nodded back towards goal and Tom Green was on hand to head home and send his side up to eighth in the Midland Football League Division One.
