Lichfield City FC were given a boost in their title hopes – despite not kicking a ball.
Jay Hawkins’ men saw their Midland Football League Division One trip to fifth placed Uttoxeter Town today (14th December) called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
But second-placed City were handed a boost when table-topping Leicester Road suffered a shock 1-0 home defeat against Ashby Ivanhoe.
The result means Lichfield still sit ten points adrift of the table-toppers, but now have two games in hand.
City return to action on 21st December with a trip to Rocester.
