Lichfield City FC breezed through to the semi-final of the Staffordshire Vase with a 6-0 thrashing of Knypersley Victoria.

Gary Birch’s men commanded the game and opened the scoring on 22 minutes through David Yonwin.

Tony Clarke then scored two before half time.

The second period started as the first had – with a Yonwin goal.

And the City striker wrapped up his hat-trick after netting from the penalty spot.

But the battle for the matchball wasn’t over as Clarke wrapped up the scoring with Lichfield’s sixth.

City will be back in cup action tomorrow (January 12) when they entertain AFC Wulfrunians in the JW Hunt Cup.
