Lichfield City have completed the signing of England futsal star Nick Colley.
Colley – whose footballing achievements were overshadowed by a scandal which saw him admit that claims he had stomach cancer were a lie – has joined Lichfield from Worcester City.
And the midfielder who once captained Tamworth in an FA Trophy final at Villa Park has revealed that playing near his home was a major factor in his decision.
Colley told The Non-League Paper:
“Lichfield is my home town and they have a great manager in Dean Gilbert. I liked what he said and how he sold the club – you can tell how good a club is when the manager is as excited as Dean was.”
