Lichfield City FC suffered a night to forget as they were thumped 5-1 by Leicester Road.
Dave Langston’s men had their backs to the wall from the outset as the hosts came out firing and took the lead after just five minutes when Kieran Reid netted from inside the box.
Things soon got even worse as Gregory Downes broke the offside trap to score just two minutes later.
Lichfield keeper Matt Cottrell pulled off two good saves to prevent Leicester Road being out of sight before the half time whistle had even blown.
Any hopes of a second half comeback were soon extinguished two minutes after the restart though as Calum Rudd was given space to pick his spot with a free header in the box.
First half history repeated itself in the second as it took just a matter of minutes for City to concede after the restart as Downes added his second.
Ben Lund went close as Lichfield attempted to muster a response, before they did bag a consolation when Dan Thurstance rifled home.
But it was Leicester Road who would have the final say on the evening as sub Sam Munton lashed home from inside the six yard box to wrap up a miserable away day for City.
