Plans have been unveiled for the 2015 Lichfield Food Festival.
The annual event is back to showcase top chefs from across the region as well as serving up an array of food and drink.

Chef Simon Smith said: “It’s great to be back for our fourth festival, and this year we’re bringing some great cookery displays.
“From cupcake decorating to top selling dishes from fine dining restaurants, the demonstrations will give you plenty of ideas and are free to watch from the comfort of the Lichfield Garrick.”

Among the events planned for this year’s festival – which takes place on August 29 and 30 – are:
- Food and drink stalls as part of Central England Co-operative’s Festival Market in Three Spires Shopping Centre and along city centre streets.
- Cookery demonstrations by leading regional chefs and bakers live on the Lichfield Garrick’s main stage.
- Food stalls and entertainment in the grounds of Lichfield Cathedral.
- A traditional street party in Three Spires’ arcade including live music, a Pimms stall, deck chairs and activities for children.
- The Bird Street Food Event, where festival-goers will have the chance to taste dishes and drinks from Lichfield’s restaurants and bars.
- A celebration of local ales and ciders at Lichfield Arts’ Best of Local Brewers event in the Guildhall and around the city.
- Cookery and equipment demonstrations in The Kitchen Shop by QVC and Ideal World presenter, Mal Harradine.
- The chance to enter Cakeydora’s Bake Off and take part in A Real Ale Trail across the city.
Lichfield Food Festival sponsor and organiser of the festival market, Jon Arrowsmith from Central England Co-operative, said: “There will be a wide variety of food and drink from across the region, including Middle Eastern spices, a cocktail bar, specialty meats, Malaysian food, a juice bar, cheese, jams and chutneys, hot food and much more.”
