A Lichfield group has been boosted by a donation.
Friends 2 Friends, which helps people with learning disabilities, was handed a cheque for £860 by Persimmon Homes.
A leading regional builder has donated hundreds of pounds to a Lichfield-based charity which helps people with learning disabilities.
Persimmon Homes West Midlands has announced it is to donate £860 to Friends 2 Friends to support their work helping people with learning disabilities who would otherwise be isolated in their community.
Alison Wellon, spokeswoman for Friends 2 Friends, said: “We now have 60 members who regularly take part in supported activities and are very engaged and accepted in their community.
“However, demand is ever growing and this funding will support that growth and also provide specialist guidance where needed.”
Friends 2 Friends began three years ago and acts as a network for people who suffer from isolation by providing community activities and friendship.
Stephen Cleveley, sales director for Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: “Friends 2 Friends is an essential service.
“The charity does a lot in the community and it is only right that we support them in any way we can.”
Persimmon Homes is inviting other charities to apply for their Community Champion fudning scheme online.
