A new exhibition in Lichfield will explore an artist’s response to the landscape of his home in Lancashire.
Anthony Birchwood won the Lichfield Prize and has enjoyed a career spanning 30 years with his work displayed across the globe.
His In the Light of Turner exhibition in the city will be held at the Emporium Gallery on Bird Street from April 25 to May 6.
A spokesperson said: “Each of the evocative paintings has emerged from a spontaneous mixing of oil paint, pigments, resin and medium as a reaction to the visual experience of landscape and its transient relationship to light, weight of weather and texture.”
